Smart Grid: Can Energy be Intelligent?

What do smart meters, demand side management, time-of-use pricing, distributed energy generation and storage, and bi-directional grid have in common?  They are all components of what is being affectionately called the “smart grid”.  As our electrical usage grows, electric reliability needs increase, renewable energy generation expands, energy security is demanded, and energy efficiency is mandated, we will need a new and improved electrical grid to support these requirements.

Please join the CleanTX Forum on February 13 to hear a panel of leading experts in discussing the opportunity for Texas with new smart grid technologies.  Panelists will address many of the leading questions around smart grid technologies including…

  • What is a smart grid and how is it implemented?
  • What are the benefits of the smart grid?
  • How is a smart grid financed?
  • Can we displace the need for traditional sources of energy with the smart grid? How?
  • What are the policies (local, state, federal) affecting the smart grid?
  • What are the entrepreneurial opportunities associated with the smart grid?
