Introduction to Renewables by Peter Kelly-Detwiler

Renewable resources – especially wind and solar energy - have made great strides in the past ten years, and energy storage resources are beginning to proliferate across the grid as well. This one hour and forty-five minute session will explain the basics of renewable energy and storage, discuss how these resources work, and highlight their critical characteristics. Attendees will leave with a contextual understanding of how and why the decarbonized power grid is evolving, and the key challenges and opportunities related to the integration of renewable energy resources at both the utility scale and on the customer side of the meter.
