David Jankowsky is the founder and President of Francis Renewable Energy, LLC and its subsidiary, Francis Solar, LLC (FS). Prior to founding the company, David was Vice President – International Business Development for SunEdison, Inc., from 2010 to 2015. David was responsible for all aspects of business development in the Asia-Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa regions, where he led the expansion of SunEdison into several new markets, including Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Korea, and the Philippines. At the same time, David acted as the country general manager for Malaysia, where he completed 25MWs of solar installations, contributing $75M in revenues and $4.5M of net income to SunEdison’s P&L. Prior to SunEdison, David was an energy project finance attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in Washington, DC, where he closed over $5B of international and domestic project finance transactions in the renewable energy, LNG and conventional power markets.  David has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Vermont, where he graduated with honors, and a juris doctorate degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he served on the Georgetown Law Review. David has received “40 under 40” recognition by multiple publications, including the Journal Record, the Tulsa World, and Oklahoma Magazine, among others.
