The beginning of a new year always provides opportunity for reflection and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. The Members, Board, and Contributors of TREIA are excited about 2019 and the many possibilities its holds for our Alliance. At the February Board of Directors meeting, we elected and appointed Board Officers, Committee Chairs, and reaffirmed our commitment to our Strategic Plan. We have also confirmed our resolve to host our premier event and annual conference, GridNEXT this summer. The event, created for members by members, will welcome Paula Gold-Williams, President and CEO of CPS Energy as its keynote, and return to the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas. Hosted downtown, on the Riverwalk at the International Center.
TREIA relies on its members and sponsors to remain both viable to the industry, and expand across the state to collaborate with others in the field. To increase those opportunities we are excited to commit the months of March and April for a membership drive, with the goal of increasing and expanding our members in numbers, diversity, and industry representation. My hope is that you will actively engage with us to recruit new and former members to TREIA. As we continue to work to promote Renewable Industries in Texas, we will share the common vision of modernizing the power grid to advance renewable integration through industry collaboration and strategic alliances with a goal to achieve 50% renewable energy in Texas by 2030.
