GridNEXT 2019 Speaker

Eric Padilla is the Director, Public Policy for Vistra Energy, an integrated energy company based in Irving, Texas, that provides competitive electric retail and generation as well as competitive retail natural gas services. Vistra operates in 20 states and the District of Columbia, and six of the seven competitive markets in the U.S. In his role, Padilla is responsible for all legislative policy at the company and works with Vistra’s business groups to develop corporate policy positions and advocate for preferred policy outcomes at both the State and Federal level. Prior to Vistra, Padilla was a Project Manger / Technical Account Manager at Alliance Data Services, implementing bill print and mail services as well as utility billing services. Padilla also has experience in business analysis and application development.

Padilla is a native Dallasite and a graduate of St. Mark’s School of Texas. He received his B.A. in European History from DePauw University in Indiana. He is married with two lovely and precocious daughters and in his limited free time enjoys reading about astro & quantum physics, singing karaoke with his family, and taking photos of his wife showing their AKC Chinese Cresteds and Norwegian Elkhound (i.e., the pup-a-razzi).
